GottaGet is a versatile shopping list for your iPhone that helps you remember the things you've gotta get. The idea is simple. There are two lists, one with everything, and one containing only the things you've gotta get. Add your grocery items, kids birthday gifts, items from the hardware store or pharmacy, or anything you gotta get. Customizable categories make the possibilities endless. When you need an item, swap it to the GottaGet list. When you get it, swap it back. GottaGet is a simple, but useful app, we hope you'll find it useful too.

Hello,

I just tried out GottaGet for the first time and I think you did a good job on the program. Your idea of having the two lists with the items jumping back and forth between them is unique and makes the program much easier to use than other shopping apps I have tried. Anything that makes the item entry quicker and reduces the amount of typing and/or button clicks is very helpful. This is what makes me like your concept so much.

There are two additional features that would be helpful if they could be added to the app. 1) It would be great if you could email or text the completed shopping list. In this way you could make up a list and send it to someone else like your spouse to pick it up for you. 2) If there was a way to sync custom "everything" lists between two iPhones it would really be useful. Since my wife and I each have iPhones, it would be nice to have matching lists without having to do all the typing twice. I think you have a great concept and I wish you all the best with the app. Let me know if you think my suggestions are doable.

Thanks Tom

You'll be happy to know that our most recent update included a feature that allow's you to email the list.

I just downloaded the app, customized it (e.g. change categories into Dutch), composed an Everything list, made a GottaGet list, went to the supermarket and did my shoppings. It's a great app! I love it already. Two things are achieved that make me love it 1) composing the list (every saturday) is now fun, for I just need to hit "get it" for the things we need, 2) checking if everything is in the cart once you're in the supermarket is easy, effective and ... fun!
Thanks for this very nice app!

GottaGet is awesome. I just thought I'd tell you. It's the perfect tool for shopping. Thx.

As said before, I love the GottaGet App ! However, I have a suggestion for making it even nicer. Now I only have a list which I use for the supermarket. It would be nice if I could add a list which I could use as a checklist for when we go on holiday (in our case a Got it list for stuff we need to pack in our mobile home).

Thanks Anita

Great idea. As it happens, something like this is being planned.

Anita said on Friday, March 27, 2009:

Great! I would like to be informed as soon as it is available!

Anita said on Wednesday, April 08, 2009:

Could you give an indication of when the feature for adding lists for vacation etc. becomes available?

Tim Stephenson said on Wednesday, April 08, 2009:

Yes, my goal is to release a new version some time in May. I'll send you and email as soon as we submit to the App Store for approval.

Tim Stephenson said on Sunday, April 19, 2009:

Hi Anita

We just released a new version of GottaGet to the App Store. You can now create multiple lists. Each list consists of both a GottaGet and an Everything list. It should be available in a few days. Apple's approval process for updates has been taking between 4 and 7 days. Look for the update soon.

Any chance to update the list online and sync the list? Typing up list on computer would be much easier than trying to input on iphone.

Arthur said on Sunday, April 26, 2009:

Wonderfully thought out app. If I had one feature request, it would be 'customizable amounts': I'd like to be able to use kilos, boites or Dosen. Effectively, I'd like the ability to localize the amounts list...
Thanks for a useful fun app!

Tim Stephenson said on Monday, April 27, 2009:

Thanks Arthur. I think localization will be one things we focus on next.

Tim Stephenson said on Monday, April 27, 2009:

Hi Lisa

A web site could make managing lists online possible. At this time we don't have one planned. That could change if lots of people are interested.

I love this app. I use it all the time. My gf has it on her phone too. We're constantly sending each other our lists depending on who can pick up the groceries that day, which brings me to my suggestion. A great addition would be if a user could share lists with another user so they're working off one list. Or you can receive a list from another person so it's inside the app and all the functionality works. Thanks for this awesome product. Keep up the good work.

Oliver said on Tuesday, September 22, 2009:

Great little app. I tried over a dozen of grocery list apps and this is by far the most user friendly of all. I just wish the "got it" icons where bigger so that my big fingers could tap on them without ending up in the editing window. Make the area bigger and it will be perfect! Thanks for making it available to us for free.

I love your app for shopping and todo lists. I love that you only have to type the item once and then activate it as a buy or do item at any time. What I would really love is a way sync it to my mac. Entering a lot of items on the iphone/ipod touch is a pain. Being able to enter them on the computer or even a web site and then syncing them would be worth paying a buck or 2 for. :)

We are busy gathering input for the next version of GottaGet. Many functions will require an integrated website component--which takes time and $$. So it great to hear what functions have real value. Thanks so much for all your comments. If yo see an important function suggestion already listed, give it a second vote and move it up on the priority list.

Kevin said on Sunday, December 13, 2009:

I agree with Oliver. I love this app, but am often frustrated by having it go to the edit screen when I am trying to tap on "Got it" when shopping. It would be ideal if you could remove the edit function from that list...I can edit when I make the list anyway. Thanks!!

I tried to download this app from Itunes and it will not let me open the link. When you click on "free app" it does nothing. I really want to download it, it's received good reviews.

Thanks

We haven't been able to duplicate this problem. Were you able to download? Be sure you are on the latest version of your iPod touch or iPhone software.
